SCHOOL SUCCESS INTERVIEW ACTIVITY
Part 1 – Chose your company. Determine what you would like an employee to be doing for your company. Adjust the questions below to work for your company.
Part 2 – Ask the following questions of your candidate (Only ask the questions specified by the teacher)
1. Did the candidate answer your questions?
2. Based on the way they answered the questions, would you hire them?
3. Did they make eye contact, shake hands appropriately, appear confident?
4. Did they seem like they had thought out their answers?
5. Were they pleasant? (Nice, friendly)

- Tell me about yourself.
- Why are you interested in working for this company?
- Tell me about your education.
- Why have you chosen this particular field?
- Describe your best/worst boss.
- In a job, what interests you most/least?
- What is your major weakness?
- Give an example of how you solved a problem in the past.
- What are your strengths?
- How do others describe you?
- What do you consider the most important idea you contributed or your most noteworthy accomplishment in your last job?
- Where do you see yourself in three years?
- Think about something you consider a failure in your life, and tell me why you think it happened.
- How do you think you will fit into this operation?
- If you were hired, what ideas/talents could you contribute to the position or our company?
- Give an example where you showed leadership and initiative.
- Give an example of when you were able to contribute to a team project.
- What have you done to develop or change in the last few years?
- Do you have any questions for me?
- What do you know about the type of work we do?
- Why did you leave your last job? (Answer with a positive statement. Try not to say: "I was fired," "terminated," "quit," "had no babysitter," or "couldn't get along with coworkers or supervisor". However, you can say: "new job," "contract ended," "seasonal," "temporary," "career change," "returned to school," to raise a family," or "relocated.")
- Why have you been unemployed for such a long time? (Tell the truth. Emphasize that you were looking for a good company where you can settle and make a contribution.)
- Why should we hire you? (Make a positive statement, such as "I would like the opportunity to work with you and believe that I can do the work.")
- Do you have references?
